Car accident leads to power outage

A midnight hour car accident on the Walhalla east side has lead to a power outage that covers parts of Walhalla and West Union.  According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, a car hit a pole in front of the Highland Glen Apartments on E. Main Street.  The accident resulted in the closing of Main Street in that vicinity and power out for an area on 28 that stretches from Hardee’s to the area of Scenic Chevrolet and Edwards Auto Sales.  Duke Energy crews are working to restore service.  The outage affects the traffic lights at 28 and N. Earle Street.
