Carjacking arrests

Two men from Charlotte, North Carolina are being extradited to Franklin County, Georgia to face charges of carjacking. Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR in Lavonia reports the crime occurred last Tuesday in Carnesville, at the Carnesville Car Wash on highway 59. Authorities quoted the victim as saying two males, armed with guns, approached him and demanded he hand over his Mercedes Benz. Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas said just before the carjacking, witnesses reported seeing the two driving in a silver car and a red Ford pickup with Texas plates. According to Thomas, the Mercedes and the Ford pick up later got into a high-speed chase in Cleveland County, North Carolina and were eventually caught and arrested. The pickup turned out to have been stolen in Charlotte, North Carolina. Two young males arrested were listed as Charlotte residents.
