Carrying a gun after hours

March 6, 2013

At the request of Pioneer Rural Water District workers, General Manager Terry Pruitt presented a request that those workers, who possess the proper permit, carry guns while on after-hours calls. But Pruitt cautioned the district board of directors that from the standpoint of potential liability, armed employees is something the directors should think about. And Jerry Barlow, board chairman, said another consideration is whether the district’s insurance provider would object.
