Cars collide at traffic light

Two-cars collided during the noon hour yesterday on U-S 123 between Seneca and Clemson at the Wells Highway intersection. One of the cars wound up down an embankment, and three people were sent to the hospital. State troopers identified the injured as Lewis McWorter of Seneca and Patricia and Richard Spielmann of Seneca. According to trooper Brent Kelley, the accident occurred when the Spielmann’s 2000 Buick attempted a left turn onto Wells Highway. McWhorter’s 1999 Oldsmobile was eastbound on 123. Trooper Kelley said Richard Spielmann was issued a ticket alleging failure to yield right of way. For a short time, eastbound 123 traffic was detoured.
