Case heads to the jury

At mid afternoon today, the judge had begun to instruct an Oconee jury in the law as it applies to an alleged drug case on I-85.  On trial is an Atlanta man who was charged in 2013 with trafficking in cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Defendant Anousack Thanonglit had admitted to a trooper that the car he was driving north to Charlotte carried bags of marijuana, but his lawyers are adamant he’s innocent of the cocaine charge.  Attorney Chuck Allen argued to the jury:  “There’s a compelling lack of evidence and proof.”
