Casto project on council’s agenda

At its meeting tomorrow, Oconee County Council will consider second reading of a fee in place of tax ordinance to cover the commercial project that the real estate development company Casto is pursuing near U-S 123 and South Carolina 93 near Clemson. That ordinance creates an infrastructure improvement credit that’ll commit Oconee County to help pay for sewer work associated with the project. It places the project into a multi-county industrial park and establishes an intergovernmental agreement that includes the city of Seneca. In return, Casto agrees to incorporate a “rustic elegance” aesthetic feel to the project location. Some of the features are to be stacked stone, cultured stone and field stone, along with wood beams or material which has the appearance of wood. The council meets at 6 tomorrow night at Pine Street.
