Clemson students to face tuition increases

The Clemson University board of trustees Friday approved a 1 percent tuition increase for in-state undergraduate students for the 2019-2020 academic year. South Carolina students and their families and the state’s commitment to increased funding for higher education. The board also approved a 3.8 percent tuition increase for non-resident students.

Home fire near Westminster on scorching day

Investigation so far has failed to pinpoint why fire burned an empty house near Westminster.  It was a fire just before noon on the Dr. John’s Road at a house under remodeling.  No one was hurt, but Oconee Fire Chief Charlie King admits the 90-degree weather yesterday made fire suppression efforts more difficult than normal weather.
