CPR was administered to a swimmer who was pulled from Lake Keowee near Salem. The swimmer, an adult male, was taken by EMS to the hospital after yesterday’s incident in the vicinity of the Fall Creek landings. Cardiac event led to traffic accident

Autopsy today revealed that a 70-year old man suffered a cardiac-related event that led to yesterday morning’s accident on SC 24 in rural Oconee.  Coroner Karl Addis now classifies yesterday’s death of Johnny Patterson as a natural death.  The patrol said Patterson’s Dodge Ram left the road, the vehicle attempted an over correct, but wound up in a ditch.
