Fifth graders from the Walhalla Elementary School are enjoying a class trip to Washington, D-C–the nation’s capital.  The students left Monday morning and are scheduled to return tomorrow evening.  Amanda Brock, the newly-appointed Oconee County administrator, is serving as a trip chaperone.

Oconeeans can have influence in what goes into the new comprehensive plan for the county.  The first in a series of community meetings takes place from 4 to 6 this evening in the chambers of the County Council in Walhalla.  This is an attempt by the county planning commission to reach out to the general public.
