Deputy hurt in squad car wreck

Sirens sounded and emergency lights flashed around 8 o’clock last night near Seneca.  Chief Deputy Kevin Davis of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office said a male officer, on her way to answering a call, was involved in an accident at 123 and Keowee Trail.  There were no immediate details available.

Peeping tom, disorderly charges

South of the railroad in Seneca, the police say, they saw a man jump over a fence at Jones Avenue and S. Stribling Street.  That, the police say, led to the arrest of a 44-year old man on charges of peeping tom and disorderly conduct.  The police investigation of a Hunter Street incident took place Sunday.

Traffic stop yields drugs and guns

A traffic stop by the Seneca police on Sunday netted two guns and what the police believe were about 435 grams of marijuana.  The police say two men were arrested. New COVID-19 cumulative numbers

So far, in the pandemic, the state health agency has confirmed nearly 14,000 Oconee County cases.  To date, 174 Oconeeans have lost their lives to the virus.  There have been 357 county residents hospitalized.  And, by last Saturday, medical personnel have administered 277,860 tests in Oconee County.
