Seneca utility workers repair a broken water pipe tomorrow near 123/the Sandifer Boulevard and Hi-Tec Road.  The work starts at 7 tomorrow morning and, pending unforeseen circumstances, should finish by the noon hour.  During the repair time, Hi-Tec Road will be closed to thru traffic.

Another one thousand-plus cases of the virus that doesn’t seem to go away were added today to South Carolina’s running case count.  The exact number:  1,095.  Of that number, 40 belong in Oconee County Five new deaths have been confirmed across the state.  Total test results received by DHEC Sunday were 10,217–a positivity of 10.7%.

Today through Wednesday, Walhalla sanitation trucks will make their rounds on regular schedule.  However, customers who would normally see their trash taken away on Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) will receive service on Wednesday.  Thursday roll cart customers should have their cart out and ready to be picked up by 7 am Wednesday.

Across South Carolina yesterday, new cases of COVID-19 once again exceeded 1,000 (1,066) for a 24-hour reporting period, along with nine new deaths.  Among new cases:  40 from Oconee County.  Statewide total case count is now approaching 200,000 and the death toll is nearing 4,000.  Of 8,394 test results received by DHEC Saturday, the positivity was 12.7%.
