Shooting victim died

A 39-year-old Pickens County man died yesterday afternoon at the Prisma Oconee Memorial Hospital — the result of a shooting incident across the nearby 123 highway.  Coroner Karl Addis said it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the bathroom at the Burger King restaurant.  The case is being investigated by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.

Shooting update

Jimmy Watt, spokesman for Oconee Sheriff’s Office, says a male was shot this afternoon inside a bathroom at the Seneca Burger King.  The shooting, says Watt, appears to be self-inflicted, and authorities believe there’s no danger to the public.  The wounded individual was taken to the hospital.
