One person was wounded by gunfire late yesterday afternoon in the Utica Community near Seneca.  Deputies were called shortly after 5 o’clock to an address on Utica’s “D” Street.  An airlift was arranged to fly the wounded for medical treatment.  An investigation was in progress.  By late last night, the sheriff’s spokesman had nothing further to report.

Investigators say a boy who remained missing overnight near Seneca was found safe this morning in the Utica Community.  They found Tristan Freeman just after 10 this morning at an address on Goddard Avenue.  The 13-year old was the subject of a search after he walked away from the Collins Children’s Home in Bountyland.

The small Oconee County town of West Union turns 150 years old next month.  Mayor Linda Oliver says the special day will be Wednesday, February 26.  At their meeting tomorrow night, the mayor and council will discuss ideas for a sesquicentennial celebration.
