Ryan Noda hit a three-run homer that spoiled Michael Soroka‘s long-awaited return to the majors from two separate tears of his right Achilles tendon, and the A’s beat the NL East-leading Braves 7-2 Monday night to snap an 11-game losing streak with just their 11th win of the season.

Miami joined the 1999 New York Knicks as the second No. 8 seed to make the NBA Finals after a dominant 103-84 victory over Boston in Game 7 of the conference finals on Monday night.  The NBA Finals begin Thursday night against the Denver Nuggets.

William Karlsson scored two goals and had an assist while William Carrier and  also scored for the Knights in a 6-0 rout Monday night over the Stars, who had extended the West final to six games after losing the first three.  The Stanley Cup Finals start Saturday with Florida Panthers at the Vegas Golden Knights at 8pm.

 Bryce Elder‘s clutch pitching kept Atlanta in the game. Strong situational at-bats in the ninth produced a much-needed win.  Ozzie Albies‘ sacrifice fly drove in Austin Riley in the bottom of the ninth and the Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 on Wednesday night to avoid a three-game sweep.
