Central man charged with CU burglary

Quincy Burt  Campus police at Clemson have arrested a Central man who they saw unlawfully entered a student residence hall and an individual’s room. Quincy Lashaxie Burt, 21, who is not a university student or employee, was charged Thursday with first-degree burglary—a felony. The police say a man followed a female student from downtown Clemson to a campus residence hall. Without proper authorization, someone allowed the man to enter the locked building. The police quote the victim as saying the man, whom she does not know, entered her room. She fled to a friend’s room. Burt was released on a $10 thousand personal recognizance bond and was placed on trespass notice to stay off Clemson University property. Anyone who sees Burt on campus should call police at 911.
