Chamber sees strength in numbers

A chamber of commerce leader says the office vacancy in Seneca has given traction to an old idea for which the time may finally be right.  That is, one chamber of commerce serving all of Oconee County.  The Greater Oconee Chamber of Commerce, which covers the Seneca area, is looking for a new executive director.  And there’s talk that whoever is chosen could wind up with a countywide vantage point.  Ed Halbig of the Oconee chamber says there’s momentum, also, because this is a topic that has been broached before.  One key to the idea now before the boards of the chambers in Oconee’s three largest towns is the maintaining of local chamber offices in the towns.
