October 25, 2012

Sunday, November 4 is the day to fall back one hour, to keep up with the time change. The time change is also a good time to remember to change the batteries in smoke detectors. According to Walhalla Fire Department, a smoke detector properly installed and tested with a fresh battery is one of the simplest and most effective things you can do to protect yourself and your family from a home fire. The peak time for home fire deaths is 11 p-m to 7 a-m when most families are sleeping.
