Charges accumulate against Anderson man

Charges are piling up against a young Anderson County man who is accused in crimes over an area in southern Oconee County in the vicinity of the county line at Townville.  22 year old Robert Jeffrey Hughes and a female suspect were arrested last month after a chase that ended off the Hunt Road at Townville.  Deputies say the truck the two were in matched one stolen from the Dairy Farm Road.  As part of a further investigation, Oconee sheriff’s investigators also charged Hughes with breaking into a 2010 GMC Denali on Creekview Drive and stealing a GPS device.  In warrants obtained today, according to the Sheriff’s Office, Hughes was charged with burglary and larceny at a home on Townville’s Lakefront Drive and taking a golf cart, a battery, and sporting goods equipment.  Hughes has also been charged in the theft of a second vehicle. And the suspect faces a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle in Anderson County.
