Charges against baldwin announced

 

The Greenville man who led Oconee law enforcement on a high-speed chase Monday afternoon remained in county lockup yesterday, amid the announcement that he is facing at least eight criminal and traffic offenses.  The Sheriff’s Office statement discloses the following offenses filed against Christopher Timothy Baldwin:  strong armed robbery, assault and battery third degree; possession of a stolen vehicle and attempted murder, an allegation that Baldwin aimed the car he was driving at a county deputy, forcing the deputy to jump out of the way at the last second.  The 25-year old Baldwin also was issued the following traffic tickets:  driving under suspension second offense; reckless driving; failure to stop for blue lights, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, Baldwin will also face charges from the police departments in Seneca and Clemson.
