Charges from incidents at home and at hospital

Criminal charges have been placed against a 59-year old man as the result of what Oconee sheriff’s officers say were crimes that occurred Tuesday night at a Fair Play home and later that night at the hospital. Law enforcement reports show the arrest of Stephen James Lill on charges of burglary first degree, assault and battery third degree, malicious injury to real property, and public disorderly conduct. A deputy was sent late at night to investigate a disturbance at a home on Isbell Road and placed Lill into custody along a wood line next to the road. According to deputy Chavez, Lill complained of the need for medical attention and was taken to the emergency department at Oconee Memorial Hospital. But it was there that the prisoner was charged with public disorderly conduct and malicious injury to real property, according to the Sheriff’s Office’s incident report, as the result of a disturbance in the emergency department.
