Charleston to be “premier port”

Senator Lindsey Graham hailed the passage of  water improvement legislation that means the Port of Charleston will be deepened by 54 feet.  Graham Friday hailed Senate passage of the act “Water Infrastructure Improvement for the Nation.”  He called it a step to making Charleston the “Premier Port on the East Coast.”  The legislation passed the Senate 78-21 and the House 360-61.  It now goes to the President’s desk for signature.
