Charlotte man killed in Oconee accident

A 62-year old contract worker at the Oconee Nuclear Station was killed in an OconeeCounty traffic accident yesterday that closed parts of South Carolina 130 near Seneca for several hours.  Coroner Karl Addis said Nick Lester Seagle, a 62-year old Charlotte, North Carolina resident, died at the scene.  The highway patrol identified Seagle’s pickup truck as traveling toward Seneca when the collision occurred shortly before 6:30 yesterday morning.  Corp. Bill Rhyne said a second vehicle, a Ford Explorer, crossed the center line of the two-lane highway and struck the pickup truck head-on.   According to Rhyne, the Ford Explorer driver, 25-year old Dustin Strickland of Seneca, was airlifted and flown for treatment at a Greenville hospital.  The accident remains under investigation.
