Chase of Oconee suspect ends in Laurens County wreck

Adam Richardson Martin Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says a robbery suspect was placed in custody after a chase across Upstate counties. It was a chase that had its origins with an incident yesterday morning on Murphree Drive near West Union, in which two homeowners were robbed by a man who they had hired to do yard work. But, instead of doing yard work, deputies were told, the man pulled a handgun and robbed the couple of their valuables—-$500 dollars in cash and a box of jewelry. Yesterday afternoon warrants were obtained against Clemson resident Adam Richardson Martin, charging him with armed robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. According to Crenshaw, a chase of Martin picked up in Anderson County and eventually ended with a car accident in Laurens County.
