Chase suspected arrested

April 10, 2014

Around noon today, Oconee Sheriff’s Office arrested a Townville man in their search for the driver of a car reported stolen near West Union. A chase of a 1996 Chevy Geo Tracker ended in an accident before sunrise today near Seneca, on the Dave Nix Road. And it was within a mile of the accident scene that deputies found Curtis Justin Bearden walking along a road. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said, although his officers had been warned to expect the possibility of an armed and dangerous subject, Bearden was apprehended without incident. Crenshaw said Bearden will face a variety of charges.
