Chattooga River hiker found

The missing hiker in the vicinity of the Chattooga River was found last night and re-united with his family.  Rabun County, Georgia authorities joined Oconee rescuers late yesterday once the 60-year old hiker became overdue by three hours and his family concerned.  Scott Krein, Oconee Emergency Services director, said it took four hours and the work of 30 personnel to complete the search and rescue.  Krein described the hiker as fatigued, off track and unsure of his route.  In the vicinity of the Sandy Ford boat landing, the hiker eventually made his way down river and that’s where he was found.
