Check smoke detectors and replace batteries!

A new reminder today from Walhalla Fire Department that the time change this weekend is a good time to test smoke detectors and change batteries. To protect your loved ones and property, you should have at least one smoke detector in your home. Most detectors operate using a 9-volt batter. Newer detectors, however, run on a lithium battery that cannot be replaced. Those detectors should be thrown away after their 10-year life span.
