Chemical maker in line for Oconee

Oconee County appears in line to land a chemical manufacturing plant. County Administrator Scott Moulder said this week the benefits would be a $1 million dollar investment and 30 jobs. At this week’s meeting, the County Council gave the first of two required readings to a special source credit as part of an incentive for the publicly unidentified company to move to the county. So far, it has been assigned a code name. The current one is “Project Crystal.” Richard Blackwell of the Economic Alliance said, “I can’t say too much at this point….They will move their business here and reuse a building that is currently empty. It will be a good win as the company has new technology with a huge upside.”
