Church fire probe could wrap up late next week

October 11, 2013

A week from today, the investigation of the Walhalla Presbyterian Church fire could wrap up—not only with a determination of the origin of the September 13 fire, but also its cause. Chief Doug Kelley of the Walhalla Fire Department says October 18 is the day insurance investigators from Charleston plan to return to Walhalla for what may be several hours at the fire-damaged church. According to Kelley, the investigators will be working with Walhalla Fire Capt. Mark Hollifield to pinpoint the cause. After which, Kelley says, an announcement of their findings will be released.
