Clearing up a misconception

At the start of last night meeting, Oconee County Administrator Scott Moulder took a few minutes to clarify and try to clear up confusion over whether a one cent increase in the local sales tax, should it pass the November referendum, will apply to the purchase of groceries. It will not, Moulder said. Confusion arose, he said, over reports from Greenville that a sales tax vote there will apply to groceries. The two referenda, he said, are different.
