Clemson faculty preps for start of new year

Tomorrow will see the start of Clemson University classes for a new year.  And this morning the faculty, staff and student organization representatives marched into the Brooks Center for the Victor Hurst Convocation.  A woman who as a child stared into the sky above her southside Chicago neighborhood and dreamed of outer space keynoted the start of Clemson’s academic year.  Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman to travel to space, flew aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor in 1992.
