Clemson joins county partnership to protect water

Clemson University has joined Anderson and Pickens counties Stormwater Partners.  The collaborative educates the public, youth, builders, developers, homeowners and government officials about how to keep water in the state’s streams, rivers and basins as clean as possible.  Clemson’s participation requires the university to closely monitor its stormwater discharges and conduct public education and outreach efforts to reduce water pollution.  The aim is to reduce pollution transmitted to waterways by rainfall, snowmelt and excess irrigation.  Much of the region’s drinking water comes from surface water.
