Clemson professor gets an appointment

A professor at Clemson, Lamont Flowers, has been appointed by the U-S Senate Judiciary Committee to examine inequities confronting minorities in South Carolina and implement programs to address the issues.  Flowers was nominated by Governor Haley to serve on the State Commission for Minority Affairs.  The commission was created in 1993 by the General Assembly to provide a single point of contact for information regarding the minority population.  It’s designed to examine the “causes and effects of the socio-economic deprivation of minorities in the state and to implement programs necessary to address inequities confronting minorities in the state.”  The commission consists of nine members.
