Clemson University–a $1 billion business!

The education business that is Clemson University is now a $1 billion dollar business.  The trustees gave approval Friday to a new budget that eclipses the figure of $1 billion dollars. Brett Dalton, vice president for finance, said the money would support programs, personnel and facilities to enhance safety and security, continue academic quality, and ensure compliance.  The trustees also approved the plan to demolish the Clemson House–the residential and office facility built in 1950 as a hotel.  Sentimental to some, the aged building is called the university’s most expensive housing building to operate.  Clemson officials believe the building is cost-prohibitive to renovate and bring up to current standards.
