Clemson University “building for the future”

Clemson people have been heard to lament that their city and university are losing some of their small town appeal.  But the second-year university president defends the major building projects underway, saying they represent building for the future.  “If you’ve been to the campus lately, you’ve seen a lot of dirt being moved, a lot of cranes,” Clements said Friday.  The Clemson president keynoted the annual Apple Festival Rotary luncheon.  The building effort underway now, Clements says, is the largest since the 1960s, and he says it’s imperative that the university build for the next 50 years.
