Clemson water problems

A boil water notice from the Anderson Regional Joint Water System, effective late last night, covers City of Clemson, Clemson University, West Anderson Water District, Hammond Water District, Town of Pendleton, Sandy Springs Water District, Town of Williamston, Big Creek Water District—along with customers of Electric City Utilities, Homeland Park, Starr-Iva Water District and Broadway Water. Before drinking or cooking purposes, all of the affected customers should boil their water for at least one minute. What’s described as a failure in the raw water intake at the plant has led the Anderson Regional Joint Water System to request that all customers served by the system conserve as much water as possible and limit all non-essential water use. Repairs are expected to be completed this morning.  But, until repairs are made, the Anderson Regional Joint Water system can’t pump more water from the plant into its distribution system. Questions? You may call the Joint Water System at 864/226-9676.
