Clinton tops Oconee vote

Oconee County unofficial results tabulated tonight give Hillary Clinton 1,960 votes or 59.63% of those Oconeeans eligible to have voted today in the state’s Democratic Presidential Preference Primary.  Clinton bested her three ballot opponents.  Placing second was Bernie Sanders with 1,303 votes or 39.64%.  Both Martin O’Malley and Willie Wilson received less than 1% of the votes cast.  From the very first precinct tabulated, the absentee vote, to the last one counted, Fair Play, it was Hillary Clinton night all night long in Oconee County.  Immediately, it could not be said with certainty if Sanders won any of Oconee’s 30-plus precincts, but he nearly won one of Seneca’s four boxes.  In Seneca Precinct 3, Clinton beat Sanders by a margin of three votes.
