A Walhalla girl who one day would like to serve her city government was announced last night the winner of a scholarship awarded by the Greater Walhalla Area Chamber of Commerce. The announcement of the $500 scholarship for Marley Fischer was made during the chamber’s annual membership and award dinner last night at the civic auditorium. Marlee is a Walhalla High graduate with plans to enroll at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. Featured dinner speaker Neal Workman spoke on the topic “Community Vibrancy” and we’ll hear from the Trehel Corporation chairman later today on 96.3/WGOG NEWS.
