Companies bid on the GCCP job

Oconee County has seven bids to choose among to decide who gets the job of bringing piped sewer to the Golden Corner Commerce Park. The bid opening for the long-awaited project took place this afternoon in the County Council Chambers. The bids ranged from an unofficial low of $6.6 million to a high of $7.7 million. An interested observer at the bid opening, County Administrator Scott Moulder, said some of the bids came in lower than expected. According to Moulder, the county’s engineering consultants will go to work on the bids as early as tonight, with the idea that a recommendation will go this Tuesday night before the County Council.
