Competency test ordered for OC mother

General Sessions Judge Alex Macaulay ordered a test to determine the competency of a mother to face charges of custodial interference. And once the test results are in, Macaulay says at that time he will again take up defendant Laverne Marie Bennett’s request for a lower bond. Bennett was arrested last summer in Idaho when state police there found her and her four daughters at a picnic table off an interstate highway. According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, Bennett was arrested six days after failing to return the daughters to their father.
