Congressional hearing Friday at Clemson

Congressman Jeff Duncan has arranged a Congressional hearing at Clemson University this week on the topic of emergency preparedness. Duncan, acting in his capacity as chairman of a Homeland Security subcommittee, says the Friday afternoon hearing will focus on local, state, federal officials and non-profits working closely together during crises and preparing for threats like natural disasters, public health emergencies, cyber attacks, and the like. Some of the invited witnesses are Kim Stenson, director of the South Carolina Emergency Management Division; Jim Bottum, chief information officer and vice provost for computing and technology at Clemson University; state Adjutant General Bob Livingston; and Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper. The event at 1 o’clock Friday afternoon at Tillman Hall is free and open to the public.
