Congressman remember D-Day

June 6, 2014

South Carolina 3rd District Congressman Jeff Duncan issued this statement today on D-Day–the Allied military operation that turned the tide of the Second World War:  “Today we recognize those brave soldiers who took Normandy by sea and by air 70 years to this day, in one of the most brutal yet decisive battles in history. If not for these brave men the world would be a very, very different place.  It is because of their service and sacrifice that we live free today and our children have the opportunity to grow up in a free world.  Today we are reminded that freedom is not free, and honor those who have served our nation and way of life.  Thank you for your service and sacrifice.  It will never be forgotten.”
