Contract awarded for the new 59 Crossroads

A DOT official says a contract has been awarded for the remake of the South Carolina 59 tie-in with South Carolina 24 in the Crossroads Community. According to Josh Makison, the work should improve public safety where accidents have been prone to occur for many years. In each instance—both where 59 from Seneca swings to the right by the convenience store and where 59 joins up with 24 a short distance away, the approaches will be straightened and stop signs placed. Makison says the contractor, S and S Construction of Anderson, should begin the project soon and complete it by April 30, 2016.
