Copper thieves strike Oconee County

Thieves in search of copper to re-sell have struck once again in Oconee County. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft this week of 500 pounds of bare bright copper from HHH Recycling near Westminster. The stolen copper has an estimated value of $1,550. The thieves are also suspected of inflicting $5 thousand worth of damage at the business location at 2040 Sandifer Boulevard.
