“COPS” sponsors drive for the holidays

Westminster Chief of Police Dean Awalt is announcing a community drive to collect toys and canned goods for some of the neediest individuals during the holidays. The drive is being sponsored by the police department as part of “COPS”—Community Outreach Proactive Solutions. “We’re going to be at all of the special events for the holiday season in Westminster,” Awalt said. Donated canned food will be distributed through Dot’s, the city’s soup kitchen. Toys will be sent to other organizations for distribution to children across Oconee County.
