County Elections Office readies for February 20 and 27

If you are a Republican or a Democratic voter, you likely are getting ready to cast your ballot for your choice in the state’s Presidential preference primary.  The Republicans hold their primary Saturday, February 20 and the Democrats one week later, February 27.  In the meantime, the office of Registrations and Elections is getting ready.  Vote machine preparations along with a public test of the tabulation scanner are planned next week.  Joy Scharich, elections director, says

·        There will be a public test of the paper ballot counter to be used in these elections on Monday Feb 1 at 9 am.

·        Electronic voting machine testing and preparation will begin at 12 noon on Feb 1, and will continue daily until completed.
