County vehicles to depict “Destination Oconee”

All but one member of Oconee County Council appears satisfied with including the words “Destination Oconee” as part of the logos displayed by county vehicles—-as long as the county’s seal remains unchanged.  And that’s how the matter was left last night after County Administrator Scott Moulder said he had he called at least a temporary halt to re-marking the county’s vehicles. Chairman Wayne McCall said he believes the quest to make Oconee a destination county with its preferred look of rustic elegance goes too far when it spreads to the logos on county vehicles.  But after District One’s Edda Cammick and her three other colleagues were polled on the question, the result is that the county administrator may resume marking the county’s fleet of vehicles to reflect Destination Oconee.  Cammick said she’s OK with it so long as there’s no change to the county seal, which is attached to the wall behind the council meeting table that reflects the county’s Cherokee Indian history with the words “Land Beside the Water.”
