Court date set to appeal zoning change

Oconee Common Pleas Court has assigned an August 29 date for the appeal of a zoning change that allows a Dollar General store to build on the Ebenezer Road near the SC 188 four-way stop intersection.  Nearby homeowners dissatisified with the May decision of the county Board of Zoning Appeals to grant a special exception have retained an attorney.  Their appeal of the special exception is to be heard during a non-jury term of the Common Pleas Court, with Judge Lawton McIntosh presiding.
