Crime scene investigation

Officers this afternoon are reported sifting through trash at one of Oconee’s manned convenience centers. According to a caller to 96.3/WGOG, the officers appear to be interested in something or some things that may have been thrown into one of the bins at the Five Forks convenience center, between Walhalla and Westminster. It’s believed they’ve yellow-taped the area. Swain Stihl, director of Oconee Solid Waste, acknowledged the presence of officers, but is referring questions to the Sheriff’s Office.
