A reward of up to $2 thousand has been posted for information that leads to an arrest in the search for a woman’s attacker in Fair Play. Diane Johnson, 48 years old, was found on the sand around 10 Tuesday morning at Fair Play Landing Beach, Lakeshore Drive, at Lake Hartwell. According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Department, Johnson appeared to have been severely beaten and was unresponsive to medical and law enforcement personnel. By yesterday afternoon, her hospital condition was listed as stable in intensive care. Capt. Travis Tilson says Johnson’s vehicle was nearby and there were signs of a possible struggle. By yesterday afternoon, she was unable to tell investigators what occurred or who her assailant may have been. The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help. If you have information, call 864/638-4111 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800/CRIME-SC. Tipsters may remain anonymous and testimony is not required.
