CU looks at new tobacco policy

About 12 percent of Clemson students smoke on campus, according to research. But that may become strictly prohibited beginning as early as 2015, if a policy being considered is adopted. That policy would also apply to others on campus, including visitors. The Clemson Undergraduate Student Government organization is spreading the word that a task force is now seeking feedback from the Clemson community. Three other South Carolina colleges and universities now ban tobacco substances on their campuses. Clemson students are being encouraged to provide honest and thorough responses to the proposal. Anyone may share his or her thoughts on social media; use the hashtag #CUTobaccoBan. The student government groups intends to track the comments.
